Nicholas Kristof at The New School November 1!
Join the Transregional Center for Democratic Studies and the Global Dialogues Fellowship Program for a ceremony honoring Nicholas Kristof, New York Times columnist and a two-time Pulitzer Prize winner.
Kristof has been an influential voice drawing public attention to humanitarian issues around the world, from his coverage of the Tiananmen Square protests and the genocide in Darfur to human trafficking and women’s rights. The first New York Times blogger, Kristof has more than 1.4 million followers on Twitter.
At the November 1st event at the New School Kristof will receive the Spirit of Jan Karski Award, granted annually by the Jan Karski Educational Foundation to honor individuals who dedicate their lives to illuminating human rights abuses and who draw public attention to humanitarian concerns around the world. In his talk, Kristof will reflect on the legacy of Jan Karski, known as “the Man Who Tried to Stop the Holocaust,” and will address contemporary challenges to the protection of human rights.
